It’s quite simple. What you expect to happen often does. If you anticipate failure, it happens. If you are positive and expect success your chances of being successful improve and improve immensely.

Intention is defined as “an anticipated outcome that guides your planned actions.”

Many people don’t realize how much this plays out on a daily basis. For instance, how often have you seen a person (maybe yourself) walk into a situation expecting a negative outcome? Result? A negative outcome.

The law of attraction

This states that whatever we think about, believe, and focus our energy on is what we create for our lives?and it is important in our daily practice of life to know how to use this law.

We get to be a leader when we add the power of our own dynamic presence, when we see the highest possible anticipated outcome and use ourselves in the moment to create that outcome.

This is when we transform a passive wish into a clear intention.

It is really a question of consciousness and choice. As a leader, it is a requirement that we get very clear about the anticipated outcomes that we are carrying around.

Being an inspirational leader requires self-discipline. You can control how you behave by always aiming to grow into that person you want to be. But how?

It simply requires noticing what is going through your mind and deciding whether that is the most appropriate view of the world at the time. You decide whether your behaviors match the current situation. You determine the energy that you want to put into the world.

In every given moment, you have the option of seeing the world through a loving and trusting lens or through one of fear and doubt. In every action you take, you have the choice of creating positive and creative situations or negative and destructive ones.

Rehearse your future

How you behave tomorrow can be determined by how you behave today. Once you become mindful of how you talk to yourself, you can understand that those words and emotions are a rehearsal for how you will talk to others.

Once you become mindful of the habitual stories you tell yourself about the world (your personal mythology), you become mindful of how those stories become a guide for your interactions and the explanations you place on the world.

Before you can successfully lead others, you need to successfully lead yourself. More than anything else, this should become a practice throughout your life. Every thought and every action you make constitutes the whole of how you are defined as a leader.

You need to become aware of what you are saying and doing. Once you become mindful of how you talk to yourself, you can understand that those words and emotions are a rehearsal for how you will talk to others.

You control your own destiny

Many of us behave a certain way through habit. The key is to be aware of how we are thinking and behaving. The basic difference between a habit and a practice is mindfulness.

The most interesting thing about the following steps is that they are easy. You can achieve success as an inspirational leader by following this formula. Here are the steps.

1. Find your passion—that is the thing that you most love and want to have happen in the world
2. Connect with your passion on a deep and personal level. Become an expert. Make it an integral part of the fabric of your life and     the essence of your being.
3. Launch your passion into the world in a big, big way. Imagine the greatest possible contribution that you can make; double that, then double it again, then figure out how you can live it into being every day of your life.

It’s a fact of life
We expand our passions from areas of interest to hobbies to life purposes. Along the way, those areas of interest will probably change. What will remain constant is the skill that you have acquired in learning to engage an idea and hold it in a deeply important place.

While the steps above may seem formulaic and perhaps daunting, it is an absolute requirement. If you cannot be inspired, how can you ever hope to inspire others? If you cannot find your own way, why would anyone ever choose to follow you?

Leading is a skill like many others and can be taught. Group skills are essential to overall leadership ability, but the basis is in the individual, with who you are as a person and where you want to go.

The act of leadership is a combination of skills and unique worldviews that combine to allow leaders the flexibility to create new conditions, to move the hearts and minds of others, and to manifest reality that would not have emerged otherwise.


How Did Great Leaders Lead?

Many were simply following their own passion. That, in itself, is a fundamental part of leadership—the piece that begins at home, deep in the soul of the creator. That is the part that cannot be falsified. It is true passion.

The ability to lead yourself and follow your own passion is still the starting point. And the whole process has a humble beginning. Leadership Starts at home—who are you and where are you going?

You can fully put your love, light, and humanity into whatever situation you encounter or you can go out and create your own life. Ideally, a leadership journey would involve a combination of the two.

For many there is little if any difference between leaders. Not so. In truth, a sustainable organization is built through a shared intention of a group of people, not the control actions of one. This comes through the people’s collective choice to follow the passion of its leadership, whether one person or many.

The key word here is sustainable. If you wish your business to truly prosper, a willing follower attracted by the passion of their leader is the ideal and only choice. Power games are self-defeating.


Leaders Please Note

The most compelling and constructive leadership for groups comes through calm, assertive, and deeply inspired direction. One does not need to use power to lead a group but will use whatever power is available toward an external mission.

When you lead from a place of inspiration, people will naturally gravitate toward you. Your ability to sustain that passion and maintain your direction will keep them with you.

Dynamic leadership starts from a place of solid personal inspiration. It is about the power of purpose—of passion—and it leads to an engaging style of personal connection.

Leaders who come from a place of inspirational presence have an effect on groups that stimulates their creativity, opens their sense of vision, and expands their thinking.

In many cases the leader or chief is known as the boss. They are the person who is in charge through his or her formal authority. But in reality, a large percentage of people who have the title or designation of leader are not leading at all.

They may be directing or providing managerial functions, but they are not leading. They are in positions to exercise power through authority.


What is true leadership?

When we talk about leadership, we lean toward having people who follow because they want to, not because they have to. When we get into the social nuances of empowered systems, we see that this type of leadership is generous and allows others to share in the direction and to expand on their own passions as well.

This allows for the synergy of groups and allows the natural phenomenon of collective consciousness to do the creative designs on its own.

Calling a person a leader does not make him or her one. A person who is in a position of authority and who has extended impact over the lives of others must also lead.

We lead better and follow better when the mood or atmosphere is positive. We are inspired when the vibe is good.

Most of us know this from experience. If we are in a relationship of any sort—work, family, romantic, or social—where the mood is unhappy, heavy, or depressing, we feel ourselves dragged down. We will feel uninspired.

Conversely, if that same situation has optimism and enthusiasm, we will feel that mood moving through us as well. People who are in emotionally safe, trusting, and supportive environments take more risks. They feel freer to be creative and spontaneous.

Great Minds

The Dali Lama states it this way: “Choose optimism. It feels better.”

You can read books about leadership which appeals to your brain. But what can be more effective is when we learn through our heart. Then you are using an emotional model.

If you can access the body and emotional memory you have of the impact of emotions on your productivity and levels of inspiration, you will begin to live from this model. That which you become aware of in yourself and consciously access will begin to shape your life.
