Mentoring Process
This is to be taken after completing the 6 Modules of our Executive Coach Training, and leads to the final testing for certification through ICF.
The mentoring process for our program is accomplished through a combination of the Direct Observations and one-on-one direct coaching as fal preparation.
Because the process is competency based, we have established a minimum amount of mentoring, and the process we will assess final level of competency. The mentoring hours will be determined by that process.
All mentoring will be conducted by a PCC or MCC instructor.
In Class Direction Observations
During the classes, each participant receives direct observations towards their coaching skills. These are combinations of in-class observations of their coaching, and direct feedback at the time. These total 1 hour each.
Additionally, the participants record coaching sessions outside the class which are brought in and evaluated by our instructors and they receive feedback on these as well.
At the end of each observation, the participant will receive a written feedback sheet outlining specific areas of strength and potential improvement.
At the end of Module 6, which is required to enter the mentoring program, a participant will have received some in class hours of mentoring.
Outside Mentoring
At the end of Module 6, participants will have been evaluated on their overall skills and abilities. At that point, when they enter the final mentoring phase of training, they will be expected to deliver consistently to PCC standards. For EGL’s program, this means that at least 3 of their mentor coaching sessions will pass at a minimum of PCC before being recommended for final testing.
